I have friends that say its like card collecting and a diverse game of chess all at the same time. Imagine baseball card collections or the popular Pokemon Card Game, except much better.
In Magic players take turns casting spells. These spell may include 'Permanents' which stay on the field like 'Creatures', 'Enchantments', 'Artifacts', etc. Other spells include cards like an 'Instant' and 'Sorcery' which activate when they are cast and then go to a players discard pile.
Players start with 7 cards in hand, draw a card each turn, and try to damage their opponents life to 0 from 20.
